Kimberly Gray – Director Of Revenue Cycle
Kimberly Gray is currently the Director of Revenue Cycle for Wachusett Healthcare, consisting of four skilled nursing facilities located in Massachusetts and Connecticut. Kimberly joined the Wachusett team in 2019. During her tenure with Wachusett, Kimberly has implemented many changes allowing the company to recognize a significant increase in cash collections and a decrease in bad debt write-offs. These systems have also allowed the organization to reduce the Days Sales Outstanding (DSO), which has improved its overall cash flow position.
Kimberly began her career working in the healthcare industry in 2001. Kimberly’s healthcare revenue cycle experience expands over many facets of the healthcare continuum, including hospital billing, Medicare, Medicaid (multi-state expertise), and Managed Care billing. Along with her billing and collections experience, Kimberly has extensive knowledge of the rules and regulations necessary to operate a successful Revenue Cycle Department across the healthcare continuum. She has worked with different revenue cycle models, including Central Business Offices (CBO) and facility-based Business Offices. Kimberly has over fifteen years of managerial experience with revenue cycle personnel. She has managed departments both at a regional and facility level. Her effectiveness is realized by implementing processes and providing staff education and training to ensure that facilities are running effectively and cash is received on a timely basis.
Before joining Wachusett, Kimberly was the Regional Business Office Manager for an organization with six skilled nursing facilities located within Massachusetts. Her role was to ensure that the facility’s Business Office Managers followed the company, state, and federal regulations. She handled writing and updating company policies and procedures as well as staff development. Kimberly was an integral part of coordinating the Central Admissions Office, Personal Needs Account software, Billing software, and transitioning to a paperless Business Office operation. She was actively involved and responsible for the Medicaid Pending process at each facility to ensure that applications were processed in a timely manner.
Kimberly has processed hundreds of Medicaid Applications and has attended many Appeal Hearings. She is well versed in Massachusetts, Connecticut, and New Hampshire Medicaid regulations. She has worked with many different Electronic Medical Records and Billing software and is easily adaptable to learning new systems. She has been successful in Managed Care contract negotiations to ensure that the facility is receiving the best rate possible for the care provided.
Her compassion for the elderly and drive to succeed has made her very successful within the industry. Kimberly lives in Billerica, MA, with her husband and four children. She is very involved in her children’s activities, horseback riding, lacrosse, and the Team Mom for her daughter’s Pop Warner Cheerleading Team.
